Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
Canned Goods
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
Pasta
  • 8 pieces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
Cheese & Garnish
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh for garnish parsley optional

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil.
  4. Add broken noodles; simmer for 15 minutes until tender.
  5. Serve hot, topped with ricotta, mozzarella, and parsley if desired.
