Method
- Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, and optional vanilla, nutmeg, or cranberries.
- Grease the Crockpot and spread the apple mixture evenly inside.
- Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and nuts to make the topping.
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples in the slow cooker.
- Cook on LOW for 4–6 hours until apples are tender. Leave lid slightly open for the last 30 minutes for crispier topping.
- Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.
Notes
For a crunchier topping, leave the lid slightly open during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
