Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries (optional)
Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Method
 

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, and optional vanilla, nutmeg, or cranberries.
  2. Grease the Crockpot and spread the apple mixture evenly inside.
  3. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and nuts to make the topping.
  4. Sprinkle the topping over the apples in the slow cooker.
  5. Cook on LOW for 4–6 hours until apples are tender. Leave lid slightly open for the last 30 minutes for crispier topping.
  6. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.

Notes

For a crunchier topping, leave the lid slightly open during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
