Ingredients
  

Meat and Potatoes
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 0.25 cup milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • to taste salt & pepper salt & pepper
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • for garnish fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice potatoes thinly.
  2. Cook onions and garlic in olive oil until fragrant. Add ground beef, season, and brown.
  3. Layer half of potatoes and beef in a greased dish, top with cheese. Repeat layers.
  4. Pour beef broth (and milk if using) over layers. Cover with foil and bake 35-40 mins.
  5. Remove foil, sprinkle Parmesan, bake uncovered 10 mins. Rest, garnish, and serve.

Notes

For a creamier texture, add milk to the beef mixture before layering.
