Method
- Place chopped potatoes in a pot, cover with water, and boil until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain water and return the pot to the stove.
- Add milk and heat until steaming, about 10 minutes (do not boil).
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir in butter until melted.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
Notes
For a creamier texture, blend part of the soup before serving.
