Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 5 pounds Prime Rib Roast bone-in preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper freshly ground
Herbs & Spices
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Rosemary chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Thyme fresh
Oil & Others
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Mix salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and olive oil to create a rub.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the prime rib and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. Place the roast in the oven and cook for 20 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325°F (160°C) and roast for about 1 hour 30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C).
  5. Remove from oven, tent with foil, and let rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for best results and let the meat rest before carving.
