Ingredients
  

Pasta and Vegetables
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets quartered
  • 13.9 ounces ring of kielbasa sausage cut into bite-sized slices
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small diced yellow onion about 1/2 cup
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to package; add broccoli in last 2 minutes, then drain.
  2. Melt butter in skillet, cook kielbasa until browned (~5 min).
  3. Add onion and garlic; cook 2-3 min until fragrant.
  4. Whisk milk into skillet, simmer until thickened (~3-5 min), then stir in cheese until melted.
  5. Add pasta and broccoli, toss to coat, season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
